✔️ Sleeves

VDJ25:
The front features a sequence of stills—possibly from the animated trailer of the film.

The back shows the scene where Paul gets kidnapped (a deleted scene), with a brief Sting cameo!

VDJ26:
The EMI sleeve is a clear parody of Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Ladyland, and the reverse reuses Elton John’s Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy cover art.

▼ Below is the original jacket. ▼

Both sleeves include the phrase: “From the Film The Great Rock’n’Roll Swindle” on the reverse.

✔️ Labels

Side A

Full-colour Swindle picture label
Slightly more faded than the official releases

Side B

VDJ25: Plain light blue label

VDJ26: Pale pink label

Both say: “From the Double Album THE GREAT ROCK’N’ROLL SWINDLE – VD 2510”

Only Bodies says “Not from the Double Album…”, though EMI isn’t on the soundtrack either.

🧷 Collector’s Notes

✔️ Are They Really from 2005?

They’re often said to be Japanese-pressed bootlegs, limited to 600 copies.
While Discogs and eBay users have echoed this, there’s no clear evidence that they’re from Japan.

The 600-copy claim also seems questionable—
I got mine around 2017–2018, and they were in near-mint condition. If they were from 2005, that’s pretty unlikely.

Maybe they’ve been re-pressed quietly to keep prices up? 🤔

✔️ What About the Songs?

Bodies and EMI are the standard NMTB versions, not featured in TGRRS.

Johnny B. Goode ~ Road Runner starts mid-song (intro cut), possibly due to time constraints—it’s not the full-length version.

Ends with a clean fade-out, not a hard cut like No Fun.

Substitute is the same as the one on the TGRRS soundtrack.

All tracks have appeared before—these aren’t alternate takes.
So, these singles are pure collector’s items 😊
