Here We Go!
Another spotlight from my Sex Pistols collection!
This time I’m featuring a key single tied to The Great Rock’n’Roll Swindle film:
No One Is Innocent / My Way – UK Original Pressing (Virgin VS220)

🧷 Basic Specs
- Title: No One Is Innocent / My Way
- Artist: Sex Pistols
- Format: 7″ single (45RPM)
- Release Date: 29 June 1979
- Label / Catalogue No.: Virgin VS220
- Sleeve: Picture sleeve
🧷 Track Listing
A-side: No One Is Innocent (A Punk Prayer by Ronald Biggs)
A-side: My Way (Vocals: Sid Vicious)
This one’s a double A-side:
Ronnie Biggs (of Great Train Robbery infamy) takes the lead on No One Is Innocent,
while Sid delivers his iconic version of My Way.
🧷 Pressing / Variant Info
✔️ Matrix Numbers (Runout Etchings)
- VS 220 A1.
- VS 220 B2.
✔️ Sleeve
- Features photos of Ronnie Biggs and Sid (from the film).
- Glossy finish.
✔️ Label

- Cream-coloured labels on both sides.
- My Way label incorrectly states a runtime of “3:03” — it’s actually closer to 4 minutes!
🧷 Collector’s Notes
According to Great Collection, the first pressing had black/white labels, while the second pressing used cream labels.
Mine has the glossy sleeve and cream labels — so it’s unclear which pressing it is 😅
Maybe they were issued simultaneously?
There are also multiple mispressings of this record, with completely different tracks — but you’d need to play it to know for sure.
Personally, I’m more interested in the version with audience noise and a gunshot at the end of My Way — supposedly taken straight from the film.
This version has “DJ” etched into the matrix and appears to be quite limited based on Discogs listings.
Fun fact: Michiro Endo of THE STALIN once said he wanted to perform Aogeba Tōtoshi (a Japanese graduation song) in the style of My Way — but his bandmates vetoed the idea.
He later released it as a solo track.
Choral vocals followed by punk chaos — totally brilliant.
🧷 Coming Up Next
Next time: I’ll be showcasing the 12″ version The Biggest Blow (PUNK PRAYER by Ronnie Biggs) / My Way (Virgin VS22012) — a limited edition of 20,000 with interview content — plus the Nippon Columbia pressing.
Stay tuned!

For collectors interested in Japanese editions
If you are drawn to the design and information found on Japanese releases, particularly obi strips, you may want to take a look at my Never Mind The Bollocks Japanese CD OBI Gallery.
This page organises each obi strip variation issued for the album individually, presenting the obi itself as the main focus in a collector-oriented reference format.
It is intended as an entry point for those interested in Japanese obi strips.
