Pressing & Variant Details

✔️ Disc Details

There are spelling mistakes on the disc label too.

It’s not that the titles have been translated into Italian just because this is an Italian release. They’re simply misspelt English titles.

✔️ Cover / Booklet

▼ The front cover. Surely they could have found a better photograph…

▼ The back is just as blurry.
Glen Matlock is credited as the bassist, but the photograph shows Sid!

▼ The rear inlay is identical to the back of the booklet.

▼ Inside the booklet.

▼ There’s no information about the band inside. Instead, the booklet contains a Great Dane Records mail-order catalogue.

It features live recordings from the 1960s and 1970s, including artists such as The Doors, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and David Bowie.

🧷 Collector’s Notes

✔️ Where Were These Tracks Actually Recorded?

According to the booklet and rear inlay, the recordings are from:

  • Tracks 1–11: Live in England, 1977
  • Tracks 12–19: Live in London, 24 September 1976

However, there are several corrections to these details, so I compared the tracks with various other bootleg CDs and LPs.

Tracks Discogs Notes User Comment My Findings
1 Atlanta Halmstad ✅ Halmstad
2 Atlanta San Francisco ✅ San Francisco
3, 5–8, 11 Stockholm — ✅ Stockholm
4 San Francisco — ✅ San Francisco
9 Burton-on-Trent Cleethorpes ❓ Unconfirmed
10 Halmstad — ✅ Halmstad
12–19 Burton-on-Trent — ✅ Burton-on-Trent

Note: You can scroll the table horizontally.

The Discogs user comment also provides some information about where the recordings were sourced from:

  • Tracks 1–6: Taken from side B of Anarchy World Wide
  • Tracks 7–10: Taken from side B of Cash From Chaos

Apart from track 9, my comparisons matched the information in the Discogs Notes and user comment.

Track 9, “Satellite”, remains unconfirmed because I couldn’t find a suitable recording to compare it with. However, it certainly doesn’t sound like the Burton-on-Trent performance.

So, in the end, this CD is basically a bootleg of other bootlegs!

The tracks taken from better-quality sources are listenable enough, but overall, the sound quality is pretty poor.

✔️ How Much Did It Cost Back Then?

The Discogs user comment also mentions the original price, saying that £27 (approximately ¥6,400 at 1991 exchange rates) was far too much to pay for a CD like this.

However, the catalogue actually shows £27.000.

Could this be a reference to Italian lire rather than British pounds?

I think it’s more likely to mean ₤27,000 (27,000 Italian lire, approximately ¥3,000 at 1991 exchange rates).

The catalogue also lists a price of $22.00 (approximately ¥3,000 at 1991 exchange rates), which would have been a fairly normal price for a new CD at the time.

Whether the contents were worth the money is another matter…

Quite a difference, just because of the currency! Haha.

🧷 Coming Up Next

Next time, I’m planning to introduce We’ve Cum For Your Children (Wanted: The Goodman Tapes)!

Stay tuned!
