🧷 From a Collector’s Point of View
✔️ Numbering
This set is numbered 002254.
I’d long since forgotten the details, so I went looking for how many were made. Never Mind The Bollocks Here’s The Artwork shows 017447 and 28033, and discogs lists 024590.
Digging a little further, I came across a figure of 50,000 copies.
It was the heyday of the CD, granted, but that’s a fairly confident number for a “limited” edition.
✔️ The “Spunk Box”
In 1996, the Sex Pistols reunited for the Filthy Lucre Tour.
The Japanese dates ran from 28 October to 23 November, and this box came out exclusively in Japan to mark the visit. The Japanese title, though, was “Spunk Box“…
It takes the 2CD Never Mind The Bollocks / Spunk (SPUNK 1), released earlier in the UK, and adds a T-shirt, a sticker and a serial number. None of it has anything to do with the live shows. A collector’s item riding on the tour, you might say.
To be fair, the T-shirt does say Filthy Lucre Live…
▼ You can hear the reunion shows here.
🧷 Coming Up Next
Next time, I’ll be looking at Pretty Vacant (VJCP-20005).
Stay tuned!

For collectors interested in Japanese editions
If you are drawn to the design and information found on Japanese releases, particularly obi strips, you may want to take a look at my Never Mind The Bollocks Japanese CD OBI Gallery.
This page organises each obi strip variation issued for the album individually, presenting the obi itself as the main focus in a collector-oriented reference format.
It is intended as an entry point for those interested in Japanese obi strips.
